Our Mission

TO NOT ONLY DEVELOP PLAYS — BUT PRODUCE THEM

We work with playwrights and screenwriters to develop the most outstanding work possible and then we go beyond this to financing, producing and promoting these works and thus allow gifted individuals forge a financially viable career in the arts.

TO PRODUCE PLAYS YOU THINK ABOUT TOMORROW

To develop, finance and produce plays that dwell in your mind, spirit, and heart; that make you think and question; that have as much substance as style; and that do not push any given party line, however much we may agree with it. These goals are accomplished not only through passion and creative expression but through diligent attendance to the principles of structure and storytelling.

TO INCLUDE EVERYONE WHO HAS TALENT — SERIOUSLY

We nurture artists who are young — and old. Male — and female. Left of center — and right of center. White — and of color. Middle class — and working class. Nor will we reject any work of art due to its author's politics even if we do not agree with them.

TO FIND AND DEVELOP NEW SOURCES OF INVESTMENT

Powerful commercial producers have their pool of investors; and they are not sharing. Powerful nonprofit theater companies have their sources of public funding; and the money is scarce, while the competition for it is huge. We will be creative about finding new "outsider" sources of investment money to offer the excitement of theater and film to a new community of investors.

TO MAKE MONEY

If theater isn't making money for most theater artists, there is something very wrong with that; and probably, something very wrong with the theater that is being produced. We believe that theater can make money; and that being commercial is not antithetical to being creative and passionate and critically acclaimed.

TO TRUST THE AUDIENCE

We believe that ten people, together in a darkened room, know what is great and respond to it.
